IHS provides rebate contract calculation services for pharmaceutical manufacturers. These contracts are typically complex, and the associated data is voluminous, which can make calculating rebate invoices a cumbersome process. As a result, labor costs to support calculation can be very high and delays in payment turnaround time can result in costly late-payment penalties. Through its calculation services, IHS provides greater assurance in contract payments, improves payment reconciliation and reduces disputes.
IHS can handle even the most complex contracts and manage payment processing for flat rebates, administrative fees and market share calculations. IHS provides pharmaceutical manufacturers with assurance that according to their contract terms, they will pay only the rebate amount owed.
For contract data calculation, IHS will:
- Review the rebate contract and document all rebate business rules for each data submission
- Apply business rules to produce a rebate calculation for each data submission
- Calculate at the detail level – down to the individual claim
- Use plan-by-plan, aggregate or contract-specific segmentation
- Compare the invoiced amount to calculated Gross (before data validation) and Net (remittance)
- Produce standard reports that support the rebate calculation
- Provide invoice specific analysis describing reasons for variances
- Create specific customer reports (e.g. Product, Market, or Account, A/P voucher) as desired
- Provide clients with the ability to review and approve rebate calculation
- Distribute and deliver reporting output as needed
