Security Solutions

IHS provides security measures to ensure confidentiality and appropriate user access to protected health information for managed data access in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Access to information is restricted by the individual user ID according to job function, as dictated by the customer. In the case of IHS' Analytics Solution, informIQ™, IHS can restrict user access to specific clients, accounts, groups or members, depending on their approved security levels; or IHS can restrict access to specific data elements.
IHS' Analytics Solution, informIQ, allows customer administrators to define security levels for new users and to modify existing users' access, as needed.
At the user ID-level, client administrators control:
- User access to data elements
- Filtering capabilities per restricted access to data elements
- User access to data at various organization structures
(client, account, group, subgroup)
- User access to various client solutions
All data transmitted over the Internet is encrypted using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protection, the strongest commercially available digital encryption technology. We assign a unique user ID/password combination for each individual user. The identity of the sender and receiver is authenticated. All anonymous or guest access is denied and access requests are monitored, logged and audited.
